CARL WHITAKER

Carl Whitaker moved to DFW area after growing up in Quinlan, TX. He attended East Texas State in Commerce. Carl previously owned and operated a successful Martial Arts School. He is a world champion, 6th degree black belt and was recently inducted into the USA Martial Arts “Hall of Fame”

After being sober for several years, Carl found himself in need of help again. He arrived at The 24 in September 2018 and found sobriety in a new way. Summer 2019, Carl was offered a position as Safety Officer at The 24 and today works as a Program Manager. He uses his experience as a Resident to relate to and encourage other Residents. He enjoys being with the Residents and being a part of something as important as the mission of The 24.

On his off days, Carl like to try new foods and discover small cafes and restaurants that are hidden gems. He loves fishing on Lake Fork, and once went deep sea fishing in Mexico. When he isn’t enjoying the outdoors, he can be found spending time with his daughter, son and grandson.
