Compassion at The 24

At the start of 2024, staff chose the word Compassion to guide decisions and actions throughout the year. Compassion is to recognize the suffering of others, then take action to help.

Every week, during our staff meeting, the team shares how they have seen Compassion throughout the week. Here are some of the responses.

"Mandi showed an enormous amount of compassion while consoling members of a former Resident’s family. She really opened her heart." - Michael Gilot, TIllman House Program Manager

“The compassion and service shown by our Volunteers is second to none. They give of their time and energy and show up eager every time." - Kristen Eddy, Development Coordinator

"One of my favorite moments from The 24's 55th Birthday was seeing Michael Gilot show incredible kindness to someone who seemed down on his luck. That is what compassion is all about." - Adrienne Santaularia, Development Director

"I have an incredible amount of respect for our accounting team. Lisa and Brittny have rapidly gotten things caught up and handle financial dealings with great patience and compassion." - Tim Grigsby, CEO

introduce himself to newcomers and offer support. He is always willing to help and is full of compassion for others." - C.J. Morgan, The Hubcap Cafe Kitchen Supervisor and Mikhael Corsi, Auxiliary Programs Coordinator

"Michael Gilot is a stand-up guy. Whenever help is asked of him, he says yes without hesitation. If he can help, he will help, which is a great example of compassion in action." - C.J. Morgan, The Hubcap Cafe Kitchen Supervisor

"Holly Murdoch, The 24's Communications Manager has such a huge heart for people. She

listens empathetically and seeks to understand where people are coming from. We’re blessed to have her on our team." - Kristen Eddy, Development Coordinator
